Immunotherapeutic effects of pentoxifylline in type 1 diabetic mice and its role in the response of T-helper lymphocytes
Objective(s):Pentoxifylline is an immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory agent and is used in vascular disorders. It has been shown that pentoxifylline inhibits proinflammatory [d1] cytokines production. The purpose of this study was to investigate the therapeutic effects of pentoxifylline on the treatment of autoimmune diabetes in mice. Materials and Methods: Diabetes was induced by multiple l...
متن کاملKnockout of Epstein-Barr Virus BPLF1 Retards B-Cell Transformation and Lymphoma Formation in Humanized Mice
UNLABELLED BPLF1 of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is classified as a late lytic cycle protein but is also found in the viral tegument, suggesting its potential involvement at both initial and late stages of viral infection. BPLF1 possesses both deubiquitinating and deneddylating activity located in its N-terminal domain and is involved in processes that affect viral infectivity, viral DNA replicatio...
متن کاملHumoral and Cellular Immunomodulation Induced by Propoxure in C57-bl/6 Mice
Propoxure (PPX) is a well-known carbamate insecticide, which has been used for several decades in the world and Iran in agriculture and public health programs. However, there is no clear investigation toward its immunotoxicity as yet. In this study, we examined the effects of subchronic i.p. exposure of PPX on humoral (PFC & HA) and cellular (DTH) responses, and also monitored T-Cell subtypes u...
متن کاملExpression of Epstein-Barr virus in Hodgkin lymphoma Specimens in IRAN.
Background & Objectives: The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV( is related with various diseases including infectious mononucleosis, Burkitt's lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and post-transplant lymphoprolifrative disorders. The aim of this study was to characterize the association between EBV and Hodgkin's lymphoma through EBERs in situ hybridization (EBER-ISH) in Iranian pat...
متن کاملHodgkin lymphoma in Pakistan: an analysis of subtypes and their correlation with Epstein Barr virus.
The epidemiology of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) shows a wide geographic variation with regard to age, gender, histological subtypes and their association with Epstein-Barr virus. The proportion of EBV positive cases appears higher in developing than in developed countries. EBV is a common infection in Pakistan due to poor socioeconomic conditions, but reports regarding HL subtypes have been rather se...
